Research essay topic: What career would best suit your personality, values, and goals? Write an essay that explains why your career choice would be a good fit for you.
Step 1: One of the first things you need to do is research career options and pick one career. Here are some things you want to find out about your career choice:
What skills are needed for this career? What would be required to gain these skills?
What is the average salary or salary range? What is the demand for the job? What degree or training do you need for the career? What is the workplace like in this career field?
*Be sure to use the databases and other research tools the librarian provided.
Step 2: Complete research that will support your ideas in your essay.
As you see in the essay question itself, you have three supporting points: personality, values, and goals. Thus, you will have at least one body paragraph that covers each supporting point.
For your paragraph on personality, you would need to consider the following things:
* What personality traits do you have?*How does your personality align with the career/job?  For example, some jobs would require more creativity than others? Does your career choice require creativity?

For your paragraph on goals, you would need to consider the following things:
*What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?*How do these goals align with your career choice? For example, if you have a goal of regularly gaining new skills, you would most likely need to find a career in which that was possible. For instance, the IT field might be a good fit.
